Heat the oven to 275°F. Line a baking tray with aluminum foil and set it aside. Place the beef back ribs on a cutting board.
In a small bowl, stir together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until everything is evenly combined.
Rub the seasoning mixture all over the ribs, making sure every side gets coated well.
Set the ribs on the foil-lined baking sheet with the bone side facing up. Lay another sheet of foil over the top and crimp the edges tightly to fully enclose the ribs.
Transfer the tray to the oven and cook for 4 hours.
Once the ribs finish baking, take them out and carefully open the foil. Throw away the top foil sheet and pour off any fat left on the pan.
Place the ribs back on the baking sheet with the bone side down. Brush the BBQ sauce generously over the surface so the ribs are nicely covered.
Turn the broiler to High. Put the pan under the broiler, about 6 inches below the heat, and broil for 3 to 5 minutes until the outside looks caramelized and slightly crisp.
Remove the ribs from the oven, cut into portions, and serve while hot with your favorite side dishes.
