  • Banana Cream Cheese Layer
  • 4 ripe bananas mashed or sliced
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cobbler Batter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • Topping
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Prepare the Oven
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Place the melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish and spread evenly across the bottom.
  4. Step 2: Make the Cream Cheese Mixture
  5. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  6. Add the bananas and stir until combined.
  7. Set aside.
  8. Step 3: Prepare the Batter
  9. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  10. Pour in the milk and mix until a smooth batter forms.
  11. Avoid overmixing.
  12. Step 4: Assemble the Cobbler
  13. Pour the batter directly over the melted butter in the baking dish.
  14. Do not stir.
  15. Drop spoonfuls of the banana cream cheese mixture evenly over the batter.
  16. Again, do not stir.
  17. Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon over the top.
  18. Step 5: Bake
  19. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbling.
  20. Step 6: Cool and Serve
  21. Allow the cobbler to cool for about 15 minutes before serving.
