Step 1: Prepare the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Place the melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish and spread evenly across the bottom.
Step 2: Make the Cream Cheese Mixture
In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
Add the bananas and stir until combined.
Set aside.
Step 3: Prepare the Batter
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Pour in the milk and mix until a smooth batter forms.
Avoid overmixing.
Step 4: Assemble the Cobbler
Pour the batter directly over the melted butter in the baking dish.
Do not stir.
Drop spoonfuls of the banana cream cheese mixture evenly over the batter.
Again, do not stir.
Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon over the top.
Step 5: Bake
Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbling.
Step 6: Cool and Serve
Allow the cobbler to cool for about 15 minutes before serving.
The filling will continue to set as it rests.
